Please read the following Terms and Conditions of Use, Career Site Privacy Notice and CCPA Worker Privacy Notice (for California residents) carefully, then acknowledge that you have read and approve it by clicking “I accept.”

 

The Terms and Conditions of Use, Career Site Privacy Notice and CCPA Worker Privacy Notice apply to the Automobile Club of Southern California (“Club”), Pleasant Holidays (“Pleasant”) and their respective affiliates.  “We”, “us”, or “our” shall refer to both Club, Pleasant and their respective affiliates.  Collectively, both entities may be referred to as “organization”.

Arbitration Agreement
 

Our organization requires as a condition of employment (where permitted by law and for most positions) that employees be subject to an arbitration agreement. The Club and Pleasant value the positive relationships we have with our employees, and we anticipate that few, if any, employees will have disputes with the Club or Pleasant.  If disputes do arise, the Club or Pleasant encourage you to address any concerns with your management or Human Resources.  Nevertheless, it is a hallmark of good employee relations to have an effective dispute resolution program for employees if issues arise that cannot be resolved internally.  Accordingly, any disputes employees may have with the Club or Pleasant and any disputes the Club or Pleasant may have with you will be resolved, when applicable, by submission to binding arbitration pursuant to the Club’s Mutual and Binding Arbitration Agreement applicable to all employees and Pleasants’ Mutual and Binding Arbitration Agreement.  Signing the Mutual and Binding Arbitration Agreement is a condition of employment.

 
At-Will Employment Statement
 

Employment with the Club or Pleasant is voluntarily entered into, and employees are free to resign at any time for any reason.  Likewise, employment with the Club and Pleasant may be terminated at-will, with or without cause, and with or without notice, at any time when the Club and Pleasant feels it is appropriate.  No employee or representative of the Club or Pleasant, other than its president and/or CEO, has the authority to enter into any agreement of employment for any specified period of time or to make any express or implied agreement contrary to the foregoing. Further, the president and/or CEO may not alter the at-will nature of the employment relationship or enter into any employment agreement for a specified time unless the employee and the president and/or CEO of the Club or Pleasant both sign a written agreement that clearly and expressly specifies the intent to do so.  This paragraph constitutes a final and fully binding integrated agreement with respect to the at-will nature of the employment relationship, and there are no oral or collateral agreements regarding this issue.  Neither application nor interviews are considered a contract of employment.

 

Neither the Club nor Pleasant is in any way obligated to provide employment and you in no way are obligated to accept employment, if offered. This application does not bind either party, and the statements contained herein do not constitute and should not be interpreted to constitute any sort of contract of employment for a specific period of time.

 
Background Screenings
 

The Club and Pleasant do not conduct background inquiries including criminal history, on any candidate until after a conditional job offer of employment and when permitted by law. If an offer of employment is made, we may screen for such things as criminal record, employment history, educational background, Social Security number verification, motor vehicle record, and credit record (for select positions). It is imperative that you provide accurate information. By not doing so, you risk a job offer being rescinded or your employment being terminated.

 
Drug Testing Policy
 

The Club and Pleasant maintain a drug-free work environment.  Accordingly, we perform pre-employment and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing, where permitted by law.  For certain jobs, random drug and alcohol testing will be required, as permitted by law. Drug testing is a condition of employment and/or continued employment.

 
Misrepresentation Statement
 

By typing your name on the signature line and placing a check in the e-signature box of your employment application, you agree that all statements you provided are true and any misleading or falsified information in my application or interview may result in termination of your employment.

 
CAREER SITE PRIVACY NOTICE
 

This Privacy Notice ("Notice") applies to the Club and Pleasant career site operated by Taleo, Inc. ("Taleo") on behalf of the Club and Pleasant.

 

When "we”, "us", or "our" is used, it shall refer to the Club, Pleasant and Taleo (the host of this site.)  When "you", "user", or "your" is used, it shall refer to you the applicant and user of this site.

 

When you submit your application for employment and use our site, we collect personal information about you.  This information includes, but is not limited to, your name; address; e-mail address; password that you set; telephone number; information about your education and occupation background; skills and experience; awards; memberships and affiliations; activities and interests; information imported by you and/or connections from third party sites; information about third parties, such as references or contacts, which you provide to us with the third parties’ express written consent to do so; your resume, cover letters, work examples, and other documents; your preferences; your age, gender, race or ethnicity, if permitted by federal, state or local law and you choose to provide it. We may use the information we collect about you in a variety of ways, including processing your application for employment and communicating job opportunities to you, performing background checks, operating and improving our sites, responding to you, and preventing security breaches.

 

We may share your information when we work with service providers (including Taleo) that provide us support services such as applicant management, and background (and when permitted by law, credit checks), and skills analysis.

 

We may also disclose your information if we believe that the disclosure is required by law.

 

We collect information about you by way of a variety of technologies including cookies, which contain information that can later be read by a web server.  We mainly use cookies to allow you to access and use our career site, to help us analyze and estimate traffic on our career site, and to remember information for you to save you the trouble of re-entering information.

 

You may elect to receive information about our careers when you sign up for our Talent Community.  The information you receive will be based on the information you provide in your Talent Community profile, which may be updated by you at any time.  If you opt out of receiving Talent Community communications from us, you may still receive e-mails about the status of your application(s).

 

If you want to access or cancel your Talent Community account or your General Profile in Taleo, please contact us as described in the FAQ section of our Career Site. We will make every effort to promptly respond to your request.

 

We protect your information using technical, physical, and administrative security measures to reduce the risk of loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure or modification of your information and have required Taleo to use similar measures to reduce risk. While we have implemented these security measures, no system or network can be 100% secure. 

 

We may retain your information as long as necessary and appropriate to comply with applicable legal standards.  Once the information is submitted, you cannot later delete this information. If you are offered a position with our organization, this information may be transferred into our Human Resources systems and used to manage the new hire process.  Any personal information you submit may become part of your personnel file and may be used for other employment/work-related purposes. Your information may be destroyed in accordance with our retention policy.

 

As part of the hiring process, you will be asked to create a log-in username and password.  You must keep this information confidential as it can be used to electronically sign and submit additional applications.

 

We do not intend for our career site or online services to be used by anyone under the age of 18.  If you are a parent or guardian and believe we may have collected information about a child, please contact us as described in our FAQ section of our career site.

 

This Privacy Notice is effective as of the date noted at the top of this webpage.  We may update it from time to time.  If we make material changes, we will post the updated Privacy Notice on this page and change the date at the top of this webpage. CCPA WORKER PRIVACY NOTICE

This CCPA Worker Privacy Notice (Notice) applies to Workers of the Automobile Club of Southern California and its affiliated clubs ("Club") and Pleasant Holidays and its affiliates (“Pleasant”).  In this Notice, we describe the categories of personal information collected regarding Workers and the purposes for which this information is used.  This Notice is in addition to the Terms and Conditions of Use set forth above.  Note:  A separate CCPA privacy notice is applicable to information collected by the organizations on consumers and does not apply to Workers. 

 

This Notice applies to all Club and Pleasant employees, any prospective employee, temporary or casual worker, apprentice, retiree, consultant or contractor of the Club and Pleasant and any subsidiary, affiliate, joint venture, partnership or other corporate entities (collectively referred to as “Worker” or “Workers”).

 

When "we", "us", or "our" is used, it shall refer to the Club and Pleasant. When "you", "user", or "your" is used, it shall refer to you the Worker or user of this policy.

 

California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) Rights.  Starting January 1, 2020, California consumers have new privacy rights to their personal information (PI).  Businesses are required to inform employees at or before the point of collection, the categories of personal information they collect and the purposes for which the categories will be used. 

 

The disclosure includes a table listing the 11 categories of personal information required by the CCPA.  Each category of PI is listed and associated with a letter (A-K) in the left column and further explained in the right column.  For example, categories of information that are “identifiers,” such as your name or driver’s license, are indicated as having been collected, sold or shared in the three subsequent tables when the “A” column has a “yes” in it.    

 

Categories of Personal Information

 
  1. Identifiers

Identifiers such as real name, alias, postal address, unique personal identifier, online identifier, IP address, email address, account name, SSN, driver’s license number, passport number or other similar identifiers. 

 
  1. Civil Code 1798.80 Information

Information that identifies, relates to, describes, or is capable of being associated with, an individual or household, including, but not limited to:

• name,

• signature,

• social security number,

• physical characteristics or description,

• address,

• telephone number,

• passport number,

• driver's license or state identification card number,

• insurance policy number,

• education, employment, employment history,

• bank account number,

• credit card number, debit card number, or any other financial information,

• medical information, or health insurance information.

• “Personal information” does NOT include publicly available information that is lawfully made available to the public from federal, state, or local government records.

 
  1. Characteristics

Characteristics of protected classifications under California or federal law such as race, color, sex, age, national origin, disability, citizenship status, genetic information, ancestry, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, religion, medical conditions, AIDS/HIV, marital status, military/vet status, political affiliations or activities, victims of domestic abuse and/or assault/stalking. 

 
  1. Commercial Information

Records of personal property, products or services purchased, obtained, or considered, or other purchasing or consuming histories or tendencies.

 
  1. Biometric

Records used to uniquely identify a person including fingerprints, retinal scans, facial scans, signatures, handwriting analysis and voice pattern recognition.  

 
  1. Internet Activity

Internet or other electronic network activity information, including but not limited to, browsing history, search history, and information regarding a consumer’s interaction with an Internet website, application or advertisement.

 
  1. Geolocation

Used to identify an electronic device’s physical location, such as GPS coordinates.  

 
  1. Sensory

Audio, electronic, visual, thermal, olfactory, or similar information.

  1. Employment Related

Professional or employment-related information such as job application, salary and job performance information.

  1. Education

Pertaining to school, grades or years attended.

  1. Inferences

Inferences drawn from any of the above identified information to create a profile about a consumer reflecting the consumer’s preferences, characteristics, psychological trends, preferences, predispositions, behavior, attitudes, intelligence, abilities and aptitudes.

A column marked “yes” means that we collected information for that category.  However, “yes” does not mean that we collected all information in the category.  For example, category A (identifiers) includes name, address, driver’s license, social security number, passport, etc.  If this column (A) is marked “yes,” it does not mean that we collected every one of these identifiers.  We have further described the purposes for which this information will be used below.

  • To maintain and foster a work environment
  • To administer and provide Worker benefits and services

  • For compliance, disciplinary, legal and regulatory purposes
  • For business reasons that facilitate the operation of our business.
